The Fundamental Research of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics revolves at the development of selectivity controls in the chemical reactions and processes. The section is based on two state key laboratories: the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis, the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Reaction Dynamics, Three research groups in the Laboratory of Fine Chemistry, and some research groups in the Laboratory of Biotechnology, which are categorized as Analytical Chemistry and Analytical Biochemistry.
The State Key Laboratory of Catalysis focuses its research on the selectivity controls in the catalytic processes involving solid-liquid-gas phase. It was established in 1987 and now has 10 professors including 2 academicians of the ChineseAcademy of Sciences, 20 guest professors, 12 postdoctors, 107 graduate students for MS and PhD degrees, respectively. The lab is well-equipped with high resolution Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy, X-ray Photo-Electron Spectroscopy, Fourier Transformation Raman Spectroscopy, Ultraviolet Resonance Raman Spectroscopy, High Resolution Magic-angle Spinning NMR, Photo-Electron Emission Microscope, Electron Microprobe, Electron Microscope, X-Ray Diffraction and Automated Chemsorption.
The State Key Laboratory of Molecular Reaction Dynamics devotes t o studying the nature of selectivity control in gas-gas phase. It was established in 1992 and now has 25 staff members, including 4 academician of the ChineseAcademy of Sciences; 24 guest professors; 7 postdoctors; 18 MS and 36 PhD students. The lab is equipped with H-atom Rydberg “tagging” time-of-flight spectroscopy apparatus, Universal crossed molecular beams machine, Time of flight mass spectrometer and ZEKE spectrometer, Femtosecond lasers multiphoton ionization TOF mass spectrometer, Femtosecond lasers photoionization TOF photoelectron energy spectrometer, The apparatus of ion imaging, Molecular beam-laser photochemical apparatus, Femtosecond time-resolved fluorescence spectrometer.
The department of Analytical Chemistry and Analytical Biochemistry directs its main efforts to studying the selectivity control disciplines in the separation and analysis of complex substances and further to understand the interaction mechanism between mark chemicals and biomolecules. It was founded in 2002 and consists of 3 academicians of ChineseAcademy of Sciences, 11 professors, over 30 staffs, and almost 100 graduent students. The lab is well equipped with gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, microfluidic chip system, high resolution mass spectrometry (including APCI-MS, ESI-MS/MS, MALDI-TOF-MS/MS, QTOF-MS.MS), as well as single cell and single molecule analysis systems.
During 2000 – 2003, we have made significant progress in our research, which can be glimpsed from the high quality scientific papers published in international journals, for instance, Science, Nature, Journal of American Chemical Society, Angewandt Chemie, Physical Review Letters. These achievements have produced significant impact in the academic society. This book is to provide a brief introduction to the Fundamental Research Section in four parts: Overview of Laboratories, Research Highlights, Research and Accomplishments, and Introduction of Professors and Group Leaders. |
